Horse and Hounds - The Hunt

This is new section on sporting art. As with sporting dogs, the hunt or foxhunting has a long tradition, a history saved in the images and sculptures of sporting art. My interest in this area of sporting art has to do with my love of horses and foxhounds. Also a love of tradition and a passion to push the moment to the edge.



My interest in sporting art that focuses on foxhunting and country pursuits started with Sir Alfred Munning's work. It is a long standing love affair; as I first saw his work as a child, and it gave me such joy. Now years later I too am trying to catch the passion of the countryside and full cry of the hounds in my work. It is a lovely artistic tradition, and I am honored to have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of those who have inspired me for so long.

The tradition of the hunt and sporting art combined create something magical; an excitement, a boldness that is truly an inspiration to me. As Sir Alfred Munnings would say, "What a go!"
