Happenings and Events

Update - 2008 I have been invited to present my work at the "Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival," November 22 and 23rd 2008 in Thomasville Georgia. I look forward to presenting work and being part of this special show. Such a beautiful area filled with the history and traditions of the countryside. Super!

2008 started with a bang. In the spring we were invited to present work at a lovely show in California - Peppertree Art Show. The most amazing thing occured from that show - Dennis and I met Pat and Monty Roberts. Monty is known as "the horse whisperer" actually his book is called "The man who listens to horses." We were invited to spend time with Pat and Monty - it was truly a gift. I got a chance to talk with Pat about her sculptures. She does amazing work in bronze that focuses on horses. Monty showed us their home, and we got an opportunity to watch him review students and their final exams. It is truly amazing when a final exam consists of joining up with a wild mustang. What a wonder! Thanks Pat and Monty for making us feel so welcome, and sharing your stories and adventures with us.

Update -2007 "Paws and Reflect - art of the Canine" - English setter, Cookie is to be part of this event that will travel to 9 museums over a three year period. Also included in the exhibition is my fox sculpture, Satchel.

PAWS & REFLECT: ART OF CANINES

David J. Wagner, Ph.D., Curator/Tour Director

PAWS AND REFLECT: ART OF CANINES is a traveling museum exhibition intended to recognize and promote excellence in art, and heighten public attention and awareness about the family Canidae. PAWS AND REFLECT: ART OF CANINES consists of flatworks in acrylic, gouache, mixed media, oil, pencil, scratchboard, and watercolor, and sculptures in bronze by artists who have produced a thematically-related body of work of consistent quality over time. Artists and artworks were chosen for their diverse subject matter and for their creative combinations of elements and principles of composition and design, extraordinary technique and resulting style. Most artists are represented by two or three works to demonstrate their versatility and range of artistic treatment.
